Privacy Policy

The short version: Causeway collects almost no data from you on this website. When you become a client, we handle your organization's information with the same care we'd want for our own. This page explains the details in plain English.

1. Who we are

"Causeway" refers to the AI enablement service operated by Ren Schneider, a sole proprietor based in Denver, Colorado, United States. Throughout this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Causeway.

2. Information we collect on this website

Browsing causewayforgood.com collects very little data about you. Specifically:

  • Aggregate traffic data via Netlify's built-in analytics — page views, country, browser type. This data is anonymized and cannot identify individual visitors.
  • No cookies from Causeway itself. We don't use tracking pixels, remarketing tags, or third-party advertising cookies.
  • No contact forms that collect your data directly on this site.

3. Information we collect when you book a call

When you book a consultation through our scheduling page, Calendly (our scheduling provider) collects:

  • Your name and email address
  • The organization you represent (if provided)
  • Meeting time and any notes you voluntarily include

Calendly's handling of this data is governed by Calendly's Privacy Policy. We receive a notification from Calendly when a meeting is booked, and we use that information solely to contact you about the scheduled call.

4. Information we collect when you become a client

If you engage Causeway for a Workshop, Seed, or Grow deployment, we collect additional information necessary to deliver the service:

  • Organization details, mission, programs, and context
  • Reference documents you choose to share (policies, FAQs, voice samples)
  • Names and Telegram handles of staff authorized to use the assistant
  • A signed services agreement with your legal organization name and billing address

This information is kept in a secure password-managed vault and used only to configure and support your deployment.

5. How your assistant handles data

For Seed and Grow deployments, your AI assistant runs on your own cloud account (DigitalOcean or Hetzner), not ours. You own the infrastructure, the data, and the access keys. Causeway holds administrator access so we can maintain the deployment, and you can revoke that access at any time.

Conversations with the assistant stay on your server. The only outbound data sent to a third party is the API call to the AI model provider (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini, or similar — whichever you select), which by contract does not train on your data.

6. How we use your information

We use the information described above exclusively to:

  • Schedule and conduct consultations
  • Configure and maintain your AI deployment
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Send you emails related to your active engagement (not marketing blasts)
  • Comply with our legal and contractual obligations

7. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your data, ever. We share information only with:

  • Calendly — for meeting scheduling (their privacy policy governs)
  • Netlify — our web host (anonymous traffic data only)
  • Your chosen AI model provider — only the text your team sends to your assistant, and only under the provider's terms
  • Your chosen cloud provider — DigitalOcean or Hetzner, operated under your account, not ours
  • Legal authorities — only if required by valid legal process

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the information we hold about you or your organization
  • Correct any information that is inaccurate
  • Delete your information (subject to legal record-keeping obligations)
  • Withdraw consent for future communications at any time

9. Data retention

We keep client deployment information for as long as our engagement is active, plus seven years for tax and legal record-keeping. Website analytics are retained for 30 days on Netlify's platform. Consultation booking data is retained only as long as needed to follow up on the call.

10. Data security

We use industry-standard practices to protect the information in our care: encrypted password management, secure cloud storage, revocable access keys for all client infrastructure, and end-to-end encryption for sensitive credentials. No system is perfect, but we treat your data the way we'd want our own handled.

11. Children's privacy

Causeway provides services to organizations, not individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. International users

Causeway operates from the United States. If you visit this site from outside the US, you understand that your information may be transferred to and stored in the US.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our practices evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes that affect existing clients will be communicated directly.
