Board prep & minutes
2–4 hrs/wk
Packet, agenda, pre-reads, minutes, action items. Then you do it all again in four weeks.
Private, always-on AI assistants for the people running nonprofits — grants, donors, board prep, and everything that never fits in a day. Live in under a week.
0% of nonprofits use AI casually. Only 0% have it deployed across their team. Causeway closes that gap.
Built for
The problem
Executive directors are first fundraiser, first communicator, first writer, and last to leave. Most of what eats your calendar is drafting, summarizing, and following up — work AI handles well when it knows your org.
2–4 hrs/wk
Packet, agenda, pre-reads, minutes, action items. Then you do it all again in four weeks.
6–10 hrs/wk
You rewrite the draft, chase the LOI, and hit the 5pm deadline. Again. And again next month.
3–6 hrs/wk
Personalized retention works — but not when "personalized" is you at 11pm on a Sunday.
10–15 hrs/wk
Half your inbox is questions a well-briefed assistant could answer in your voice — for you.
2–4 hrs/wk
Same program story, five different funder templates, quarterly. You aren't a proposal machine.
3–6 hrs/wk
Board ask, staff memo, media talking points, 1:1 prep — all first-person, all you.
How it works
You don't install anything. You don't manage a server. You don't touch a terminal. Your assistant runs on your own cloud account — we do the setup, you own the infrastructure and can revoke our access at any time.
Tell us about your programs, the grants you chase, the tools you already use, and where your calendar leaks time. No tech background required — and no commitment.
You create a DigitalOcean or Hetzner account and grant us admin access. We spin up the instance, install your assistant, load your organizational context, configure the skills you picked, and connect your Telegram bot. You get a link — and root keys you can revoke anytime.
Open Telegram. Message @YourOrgAssistant. That's it. Ask it to draft a thank-you,
track a new grant, summarize a board meeting, or remind the team about a shift.
Your assistant runs on a container only you and Causeway can access. Your conversations stay on that server — nothing goes to a third-party platform. The only external call is to the LLM provider we configure for you (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini, or similar), which doesn't train on your data. Deployed inside your cloud account from day one.
Skills built for YOU
Each skill is configured specifically for your org — shaped by your programs, your voice, and the way your team actually works. We build only what fits.
Keeps your grant calendar moving — from deadlines and drafts to new funding opportunities, all in one place.
Turns meeting chaos into clean, board-ready outputs — with nothing falling through the cracks.
Tracks who you've reached, who's next, and what's still open — with spreadsheet exports whenever you need them.
Keeps your story in circulation — drafts, captions, and outreach in your org's voice.
For health and science orgs: stays on top of your field so you don't have to.
Unlike a passive chatbot, your assistant wakes up on its own — checking in before you have to ask.

Why Causeway
A full done-for-you deployment on your own cloud for a fraction of what Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud or enterprise AI platforms charge. No license renewals, no per-seat fees, no annual lock-in.
You answer a short questionnaire and open a cloud account. We handle every other step. No IT team, no terminal, no project plan.
Meet your setup person
Denver-based, with a biology and AI background — and hands-on experience inside a nonprofit. I saw firsthand how capable teams lose hours, and sometimes grants, to admin no one has time for. That's why Causeway exists: not because your team needs to work harder, but because they need an AI assistant that doesn't sleep.
I do every workshop and setup personally. I know what it looks like when a small development team is chasing 18 active grants with one laptop and a spreadsheet. Causeway exists so your next hour goes to the mission, not the admin.
Questions
No. The managed-VPS model means the server sits in your DigitalOcean or Hetzner account — we do all the setup, you hold the keys. You never open a terminal. If you can use Telegram, you can use your Causeway assistant.
You have two options. Bring your own subscription: if your org already pays for Claude Pro, ChatGPT Plus, or a similar $20/month AI plan, we plug your assistant into it and you pay nothing extra for usage. Pay-as-you-go: if you'd rather pay only for what you use, API billing runs most orgs $5–$25/month. Either way, infrastructure is free on DigitalOcean's nonprofit credit (year one) or ~$6/month on Hetzner after that.
Yes. Your assistant runs on your own DigitalOcean or Hetzner account — only you and Causeway can access it, and you can revoke our access at any time. Conversations stay on that server. The only outbound traffic is to the AI model API we configure (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini, or similar), which doesn't train on your data.
Workshop is training-only: we teach your staff how to use tools they already have access to — Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT — in their daily work, with a custom prompt library for your org. The setup tiers (Seed and Grow) add a deployed always-on assistant running on your own cloud account. Many orgs start with a Workshop and graduate to Seed or Grow once their team is comfortable.
You keep the container, the data, and the skills. The underlying framework is open source — we'll hand over SSH access and documentation so you (or any consultant) can take it from there. No lock-in.
From the intro call to a live, working assistant: typically 5–7 days. Most of that is you filling in an onboarding questionnaire at your own pace. The actual deployment is a few hours on our end.
For setup tiers, we deploy an open-source agent framework (OpenClaw) on your own cloud account (DigitalOcean or Hetzner), configured with nonprofit-specific skills, and connected to whichever LLM provider fits your needs (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini, or similar). For Workshop clients, we train your team on Claude (web + Claude Code) and any AI tools you already have. In both cases, the software is open and the infrastructure is yours — Causeway is the service layer.
